Pitching shaky as Mets win in extras

Our bullpen stinks. Enough said.

Jerry Hairston has been maybe our offensive MVP this year. He always seems to homer at the right time.

Could this be the start of a turnaround??

Harvey great in debut

Matt Harvey struck out 11 in his debut. His 11 K's are the most in a debut since Strasburg fanned 14 Pirates in 2010. Harvey also went 2-2 at the plate, including a double. Could this be the start of a turnaround??

What's one more loss?

I am beginning to think that the Binghampton Mets and the New York Mets switched places.

Dickey got somewhat shelled again yesterday (I really hope he finds his 1st half form again soon) and Hefner was less than stellar today. He did strike out seven, but was not too dominant.

We are now 4 games under .500, and I have a feeling Terry Collins could be gone soon.

Off to Arizona.

This is the Mets team we expected.

After a fantastic first half, the Mets are falling apart. They are in a nasty skid and are trailing the Dodgers once again as we speak. A loss today would put us under .500 for the first time in months.

On the plus side, Bailey is nearing return. He had another bullpen session today and will face batters soon.

Bailey Update

He began to throw from 150 feet yesterday, a week after two setbacks (tired arm and potential birth of child). He should be back in Boston within a month.
